William H. (Hank) Kucheman
Hank Kucheman currently serves as Senior Advisor or Board Member to various private medical and venture capital companies. Public company board committee experience includes Compensation and Management Development, Mergers and Acquisition, Audit and Sales Effectiveness.
Kucheman previously served as Chief Executive Officer for Boston Scientific, where he was responsible for the performance of the Company. During his tenure as CEO, he created global P&L structures, improved executive diversity and company culture, restructured international operations, revamped the Asia Pacific strategy, improved margin expansion, led the acquisition of key growth technologies, and a successful CEO transition.
Before being named CEO in October 2011, Kucheman was Executive Vice President and President of the Cardiology, Rhythm and Vascular (CRV) Group and was responsible for the Company’s Interventional Cardiology and Cardiac Rhythm Management, Peripheral Interventions, Neurovascular, Imaging, and Electrophysiology businesses, which accounted for approximately 75% of the Company’s revenue.
Prior to joining Boston Scientific, Kucheman held a variety of management positions in sales and marketing for SCIMED Life Systems, Charter Medical Corporation and Control Data Corporation. He began his career at the United States Air Force Academy Hospital and later was Healthcare Planner, Office of the Surgeon General, for the United States Air Force Medical Service.
Kucheman earned a BS and MBA from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He has also served on industry boards, including the Board of Directors of the Global Health Exchange.
